I don't use the metro apps since they are useless. The pros outweigh the cons, it has better overall performance and battery life. Someone shouldn't have to fight with the operating system to do what they want to do. Windows 8 isn't even smart enough to realize that the hardware it is running on doesn't have a resolution high enough for apps, how messed up is that? If you try to play an mp3 on a netbook it will say the music app you're trying to run needs a minimum resolution and won't run it, it never gives even gives you options to run it with wmp instead, you have to do that manually. I'm not even going to get into running apps, unless you're using a touchscreen device, they're so annoying to work between apps and the desktop. I've been using it for several weeks and still find it very annoying, navigation that requires keyboard input for efficiency is not innovative, the main thing people probably hate about it is when you clicked the start button previously to get away from that menu you could click literally anywhere in the screen to get back to the desktop now you're either required to use the keyboard, press the desktop button or press the invisible start button.
